At Palmolive, we recognise our responsibility to care for our planet.
Our sustainability initiatives ensure we remain committed to protecting nature, driving social impact and reimagining a brighter future for all.

A Journey Towards Circularity
Our products are packed with love in recyclable bottles, and we are amplifying our use of recycled content within them. From 2024, all Palmolive Body Wash, Hand Wash and Sanitiser bottles will begin transitioning to 100% recycled plastic content (excludes pumps and caps) in Australia and New Zealand. This will eliminate more than 1,000 tonnes of virgin plastics used in our business*.
*Based on actual sales of bottles from 2023 sales data.

Packaging Towards a Sustainable Future
At Palmolive, we’re dedicated to minimising our environmental impact through various packaging initiatives. We offer reusable and refillable systems to reduce waste, and continually seek to guide our customers on how to correctly dispose of our product’s packaging after use.
To help our customers be more sustainable, we have handy icons on our packaging that use the Australasian Recycling Label (ARL) instructions to guide you on how to dispose of the packaging, once you’re finished using your Palmolive product. Simply refer to the back of your product to see how you can best dispose of your Palmolive product after using it. Confused or don't see the ARL icons on our products? Feel free to contact our customer service team if you are unsure.

Responsibly Made
Our products are made at Colgate-Palmolive facilities that are constantly working on increasing energy and water efficiency, driving towards zero waste, and adhering to ethical labour practices at every location in the world in which we operate. As a way to reduce our Scope 3 Greenhouse Emissions from our waste streams, we are actively pursuing zero waste when manufacturing through the approach and tools of the Total Resource Use and Efficiency (TRUE®) certification, overseen by the Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). Our progress is supporting the reusing, recycling and repurposing of materials, before they become waste.
Currently, over 90% of Palmolive products in Australia & New Zealand are made at Platinum certified TRUE® Waste Facilities, with over 95% of manufacturing waste being diverted away from landfills. These sites also meet high standards in respect to energy and water efficiency.

Supporting Australians
We have partnered with First Nation’s growers to support Australia’s indigenous native agricultural supply chain. We have empowered First Nations farmers and invested in their thousands of years of knowledge through supporting infrastructure, campaigning to connect, and building a new supply chain with native growers. By embedding localised ingredients in our products and connecting with native farmers, we aspire to champion change for our industry.
